Our boiler cover is an insurance policy that you can claim if you find yourself with faults related to your heating or hot water. Our basic policy covers boiler breakdown, but our more complete insurance policies include gas central heating, plumbing, drainage, home security, electrics, and pest control. You can also choose what excess level per claim from our range of options. Be careful, however, as not all providers of boiler cover are regulated by the FCA like we are. With our FCA-regulated boiler cover, the insurance policy comes with Consumer Protection built into our products.
If you prefer the peace of mind of knowing someone is on hand to assist you if a problem occurs, then choosing the right cover for your needs will provide this reassurance. We have experts on hand 24 hours a day, and our claims helpline is always at your disposal. Some Customers take our boiler cover to guard against unexpected bills, and some because they find it difficult to find qualified tradespeople at short notice at a reasonable price. Whatever your reason, we will be happy to help.
Our boiler cover is very similar to other forms of insurance you will be used to. You choose the level of cover you want (for example boiler and gas central heating cover), the amount of excess you are willing to pay per claim, and you check the insurance policy meets your needs. You can decide to add an annual boiler service to your product if you want to keep your boiler in good working order. You pay a monthly amount for the cover, knowing you can make unlimited claims via our 24-hour claims helpline when you need us.
For your boiler cover insurance policy, you can select the excess level per claim for your cover. The higher the excess, the lower the amount you pay on a monthly basis.
It really depends on what you want to cover for, how much you want to pay, the service you expect, and whether you want the security of an FCA-regulated product. We can’t comment on other providers, but we can confirm our approach. As the Heating Experts, you would expect us to say yes, and in our opinion, yes! Gas Safe also recommends a boiler service every 12 months. A boiler service provides two key benefits, firstly peace of mind that it is safe, and secondly that it is running efficiently. An efficient boiler can help keep your energy costs down, but also prevent any issues from escalating in the future. If you are a landlord, it is a legal responsibility to maintain your gas safety certificate. If you have a warranty on your boiler, many of these require you to have an annual service to keep the warranty valid.
It all depends on the provider, and the policy terms they have for their products. Many boilers, especially older boilers, cannot be fixed as spare parts are hard to come by – or are just very expensive compared to the value of the boiler itself. Boiler Basic Cover is our value product as it covers the least number of events which could happen. If you are looking for a product which covers breakdown of the boiler itself only, then this is the product for you. Boiler Cover includes the breakdown of the boiler, but also includes an annual boiler service to keep your boiler running efficiently. This can save you money and reduce the likelihood of a breakdown in the future. Boiler & Central Heating Cover includes cover for both the boiler and the central heating system, including the radiators for example. This also includes the annual boiler service.Home Cover includes all the elements above but also widens the cover to other non-heating-related problems. The main difference between homeowner and Landlord boiler cover, is the cover should include the legal requirement for the Landlord to maintain an annual Landlord Gas Safety Record. 24|7 Home Rescue can provide this as part of all our Landlord products. All our engineers are Gas Safe registered, and we can provide electronic copies of the certificates for your ease.
Many providers will not cover old boilers, it is important that you check with them before applying for cover. At 24|7 Home Rescue, the age of the boiler will not prevent us from offering cover, but we may need to change the minimum excess or policy price to reflect the likelihood of a breakdown occurring. We will obviously discuss this with you if the need arises.
The price of a boiler service is shown as FREE when compared to the equivalent cover without service. The boiler service included with this cover is FREE in the first year only, upon renewal the boiler service is chargeable.

If you cancel your policy within the 12 months and you have had a Free Boiler Service, a cancellation fee would be applicable.

A "like-for-like" policy means that the information in your new policy, which you purchase through 24|7 Home Rescue, should be identical to the details in your renewal quote. This promotion only applies to the basic annual premium and does not include any additional policy features or optional extras.
